 The amount of sunlight and cost of equipment. The amount of sunlight a location receives varies greatly depending on geographical location, time of day, season and clouds.

And while solar energy companies have made advanced technological and cost improvements, solar panels still remain more expensive than traditional energy sources.

 However solar panels and home solar systems will eventually pay for themselves in 3 to 6 years depending on how much sun a particular location receives.
