Energy tips number 3, Set your thermostat on your water heater to 120 – 130 degrees. When you are setting it take a look at the water heater. Is it wrapped in an insulating blanket? If it is outside does it have an enclosure around it? Wrapping your water heater in an insulation blanket will make it more efficient.

Energy tip number 4, Home cooling and heating. Set your thermostat up a couple of degrees above what you normally start cooling your home. Set your thermostat down a couple of degrees to where you would start heating your home. Install a programmable thermostat so you are only heating and cooling when your home is occupied.

Energy tips number 5, Get rid of that old frig or freezer that sits in the basement or the garage. You could probably put most of that stuff in your main refrigerator/freezer.

Energy tip number 6, Offset your electric bill costs with renewable energy. You should take advantage of the tax incentives from the state and federal governments while they are willing to help you out with the costs.
