Alternative Energy

EnerNOC received a $10 million contract in 2010 to track how much energy state-owned facilities use in Massachusetts. The contract is funded with stimulus money through the United States Department of Energy. Massachusetts hopes to use the study to shave 5 to 15 percent off its annual energy expenses, as well as help shift to [...]

Clean Energy Technology

The BCTIA was incorporated in 1993 with the amalgamation of the Electronic Manufacturers’ Association of British Columbia (EMABC) and the Information Technology Association of Canada, BC Chapter (ITAC-BC). Over the years, the BCTIA has provided opportunities for professional development, delivered industry-focused events and programs, and exerted political influence on the industry’s behalf, as well as [...]

With the down turn in the economy and the rising cost of electricity and fuel oils, many are looking for ways to cut back in order to make ends meet. Although a lot of us try to reduce our electric bills by trying to make sure lights are turned off when the room is empty, or by lowering or raising the thermostat a degree or two, we seldom think about employing renewable energy sources.

By: Dea DavidDeveloped countries have accumulated so much garbage that there has been a scarcity of landfill space. Leaders of these countries have decided to ship their trash in third world nations for certain fees however; they do not realize that by doing so they endanger the populace from the disease and pollution that their [...]

Advantages of renewable energy

By: Shawn Kimbrough We are all for renewable energy but there is some disadvantages that come with it. All around us there are a lot of energy sources that we can think of. There are natural resources that we can always rely on and we need to make sure that we use it according to [...]

Renewable Energy Sources

Premium renewable energy like bio oil, green diesel, etc. can be generated from oil palm biomass with the technology of rapid thermal process, a pyrolysis technology where a very high temperature is applied to the biomass in the absence of oxygen. The resulting value-added products can be further processed to replace diesel, jet fuel and even natural gas without changing the fuel technology infrastructure. This presents a sustainable form of producing premium renewable energy as an alternative to fossil fuels.

Renewable Energy Sources

Building and using water turbines is one of the ways we can stop destroying the environment and produce clean eco-friendly energy at our disposal. I don’t think this one is going to become our main energy source in the future (as it needs a close to water location). But still we can make great use of it to some degree.

Types Of Energy Sources

The global battle against climate change has encouraged both developed and developing nations to reduce carbon dioxide emission. Signatories of the Kyoto Protocol lead the world to emission reduction activities, one of which is conducting research and development on renewable energy. Here are six types of renewable energy sources that are being considered to power the globe in the nearest future.

Sources Of Renewable Energy

The aim of this article is to provide a short introduction to the major sources of renewable energy. Why do we need renewable energy? What renewable energy sources are available and is renewable energy really a limitless resource?

Renewable Energy Sources

The energy market is a difficult market to understand, in general we can see a big change the last few years because fossil fuels are becoming scarce and people are more aware of environmental issues and would like to use a more renewable source of energy. The demand for this kind of electricity in peoples homes and workplaces is growing but are we ready? Technology check. In theory there are enough powerful technologies available for us to stop using fossil fuels all together, sun, wind and water are able to provide us with more …

Renewable Energy Sources

Wind and solar power are the two leading renewable energy resources available today. Did you know you can easily build your own?

Renewable Energy Sources List

Off the top of your mind, identify the two most widely used renewable energy sources. Almost all people would likely say solar energy and wind energy.

We should all be searching for practical types of renewable energy because the burning of fossil fuels, to generate commercial electricity has a major problem, the whole process is being held globally responsible for the huge environmental damage it is causing, particularly in the emerging economies. The commercial generating process of burning carbon based fuels in exchange for electricity creates, not only waste and potentially damaging gases, but also solid waste that in itself means added problems of disposal. This is particularly true in the case of nuclear power stations, which while a relatively clean and efficient method of generating electricity, it leaves behind enormous amounts of spent fuel rods, the storage of which has global implications.

Advantage Of Renewable Energy

The amount of solar energy that falls on the world is truly astounding. Every day the sun shines and provides enough energy to supply for the entire globe for 27 years. Solar energy is just one of the renewable energy sources up for grabs. Wind energy and geo thermal energy are other alternative renewable energy sources available as well.

Advantage Of Renewable Energy

People around the world, and around the country, are becoming less complacent about the choices they make. They are beginning to understand that some of the decisions they’ve made in the past were wrong and need to be changed. They are beginning to understand the renewable energy advantages.
